150 Years of the McLeod County Fair – A History: 1872 – 2022
Our McLeod County Agricultural Association history is immeasurable. 150 years of history and highlights are included in this second edition book of our history. The first history book was published in 1992 that covered 120 years and the closing of an era at the “old” fairgrounds. The second edition of the book begins with the construction of the “new” fairgrounds, the site on Century Avenue that we are located at today. This new book gave us the opportunity to combine both books into one – we hope you enjoy this digital version!
Fairgrounds History Signage Tour
Thank you for your interest in our Fairgrounds History signage project! It was fun to look back and dig up some pictures to help share our fairgrounds’ story. We look back on how far we have come in the past years and hope it brings back many fond memories of the past fairs and the fairgrounds that used to be!
The signage throughout the fairgrounds (on display only during the McLeod County Fair) was a project completed shortly before the 2018 McLeod County Fair, thanks to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and AGRI funding. Please check back as we further develop and share the extended story and provide more pictures than what was provided on the signage throughout the fairgrounds.
